Industrial Milling & Mixing Equipment for Saudi Arabia
POLYC MACHINE supplies CE-certified bead mills, basket mills, high speed dispersers, mixers and production lines to Saudi Arabian coatings, petrochemical, food and pharmaceutical manufacturers, with equipment configured for the local 60 Hz supply and shipped to Jeddah, Dammam and Jubail.
POLYC MACHINE supplies CE-certified wet grinding, dispersion and mixing equipment to Saudi Arabian manufacturers, including bead mills, basket mills, high-speed dispersers, planetary mixers, reactors and filling machines. With 25 years of application experience we support coatings, petrochemical, food and pharmaceutical plants from equipment selection through commissioning and spare-parts supply.
POLYC MACHINE has served the coatings, inks and adhesives industry of Saudi Arabia since 2001. Equipment runs in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Khobar, Jubail and Yanbu. Sea freight to Jeddah takes 18–22 days, with air freight in 5–7 days for urgent spares.
Saudi Arabian Market Size and Key Industry Sectors
Saudi Arabia has a population of approximately 35 million and nominal gross domestic product of roughly USD 1.1 trillion, making it the largest economy in the Middle East. Industrial activity is anchored by the petrochemical sector in Jubail, Yanbu and Ras Al Khair, with downstream conversion into coatings, adhesives, detergents, packaging and construction materials. The national diversification programme has accelerated investment in local manufacturing, and local content requirements mean an increasing share of industrial goods is produced inside the Kingdom rather than imported.
For equipment suppliers, the relevant demand sits in four groups. Decorative and industrial coatings serve a construction sector of unusual scale. Fine chemicals and intermediates production around the petrochemical complexes requires reactors, dispersers and filtration. Food and beverage processing is expanding under the same localisation agenda, and pharmaceutical manufacturing carries the most demanding documentation and cleanability requirements.
One specification point separates this market from most others: the Saudi grid runs at 60 Hz, with 220 V single-phase and 380 V three-phase distribution in typical industrial installations. Motors, drives and control panels must be ordered for 60 Hz operation, and a machine specified for 50 Hz will run at the wrong speed, overheat its cooling circuit and deliver the wrong tip speed if it is connected without conversion. POLYC MACHINE builds and tests to the local frequency on request, and this is confirmed on the order acknowledgement rather than discovered at commissioning.
Regulatory clearance runs through the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organisation, with product registration handled on the SABER platform. We supply the technical documentation package required for the conformity route and coordinate with the importer of record on the certificates of conformity for regulated categories.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions About Ordering from Saudi Arabia
How long does delivery to Saudi Arabia take?
Sea freight from Shanghai to Jeddah Islamic Port typically takes 18 to 22 days, and to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam around 20 to 24 days via the same sailing. Air freight for urgent spare parts takes 5 to 7 days. Transit assumes documentation is complete at origin.
What payment terms are available?
Telegraphic transfer with a deposit and balance against shipment is standard, and irrevocable letters of credit at sight are accepted for larger turnkey lines. Terms are agreed during quotation and confirmed in the sales contract.
Is the equipment compliant with Saudi standards?
Machines are CE certified and supplied with the full technical file. For regulated categories we support the SASO conformity route through the SABER platform and supply the documentation the importer of record needs to obtain the certificate of conformity. The importer should confirm the category requirement for the specific machine.
What voltage and frequency is the equipment built for?
The Kingdom operates a 60 Hz supply, typically 220 V single-phase and 380 V three-phase in industrial installations. We build and test motors, drives and control panels for 60 Hz operation on request, and the frequency is stated explicitly on the order acknowledgement and the machine nameplate.
How long is the warranty?
The standard warranty is 3 years from shipment or from commissioning, whichever the contract specifies, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal operating conditions. Wear parts, damage from operation outside specified parameters and unauthorised repair are excluded, with exclusions stated in the contract.
Can you supply spare parts to Saudi Arabia?
Yes. We hold wear and spare parts for machines in service and dispatch worldwide within 24 hours of a confirmed order. Common items such as seals, grinding beads, filter elements and dispersing discs are stocked for faster delivery.
Do you provide installation and commissioning?
Engineers are available for on-site installation, commissioning and operator training, including visa and travel arrangements handled with the customer. For plants with a competent maintenance team we can also support remote commissioning to reduce cost.
Do you have a local agent in Saudi Arabia?
We work with regional partners and can introduce a partner covering your area during the quotation stage so that you have a local point of contact for service after handover.
Can you provide references from other regional customers?
We can provide references and installation details on request during commercial discussion, subject to the confidentiality terms agreed with each customer. Application case studies are published on our case-studies page.
What documentation is provided with the equipment?
English manuals, the CE technical file, general arrangement and interface drawings, electrical schematics, material certificates and factory test reports are supplied as standard, together with the documents needed for SABER registration where applicable.
How do you handle after-sales service given the distance?
Remote diagnostics are the first step, supported by video inspection and data logging. Where physical attendance is needed we coordinate a service engineer or a trained local partner, and most common faults are resolved by replacing a stocked spare part.
What is the typical payback period for equipment in Saudi Arabia?
Payback depends on capacity utilisation, labour cost avoided and yield improvement rather than on a fixed figure. We size the machine against your actual duty so that throughput and fineness targets are met without over-specification.
Market Overview
Economic and Industrial Profile
Saudi Arabia has a population of approximately 35 million and nominal gross domestic product of roughly USD 1.1 trillion, the largest in the Middle East. Hydrocarbon revenue has historically dominated output, and the deliberate policy of the past decade has been to convert that revenue into downstream industrial capacity: petrochemical complexes at Jubail, Yanbu and Ras Al Khair, mineral processing at Maaden, and a growing base of local manufacturers in coatings, packaging, construction materials and food.
Industrial geography is well defined. The Eastern Province, covering Dammam, Khobar, Jubail and the Gulf coast, holds the petrochemical and downstream conversion base. The western coast at Jeddah and Yanbu serves the population centres of the Hijaz and the Red Sea trade route. Riyadh and the central region hold the administrative market and a growing share of consumer goods manufacturing. This distribution matters for logistics: a machine delivered to Dammam will usually serve an Eastern Province plant, while Jeddah serves the west.
Local content requirements and public procurement preference for domestically produced goods have accelerated the establishment of coatings, detergent, packaging and food plants that previously imported finished product. For equipment suppliers this creates demand for machines that can be integrated into newly built plants, with the whole commissioning and documentation burden falling in a compressed project schedule.
The engineering environment is sophisticated: large plants maintain full-time instrument and electrical technicians, and specifications are usually written by consultants to international standards. Documentation quality, nameplate accuracy and factory test evidence carry real weight in vendor selection.
Import Regulations
Conformity Assessment and Customs
Saudi Arabia applies a tariff schedule based on the Harmonised System, with duty assessed ad valorem against the customs value. Industrial machinery under Chapter 84 generally attracts lower duty rates than finished goods, and a range of exemptions and preferential arrangements apply under Gulf Cooperation Council and bilateral agreements. Because eligibility and rates change, the importer of record should obtain a written classification opinion from a licensed customs broker before shipment.
Product conformity is the distinctive requirement. The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organisation operates the SABER platform, through which regulated products must obtain a certificate of conformity before shipment or before clearance, depending on the category. Machinery categories that commonly fall in scope include those with electrical safety, pressure or environmental interfaces. We supply the technical file, test reports and declarations needed for this route and coordinate directly with the importer of record on the submission.
Documentation for a machinery consignment normally comprises a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or air waybill, certificate of origin, the CE declaration of conformity, electrical schematics and general arrangement drawings, plus any product-specific certificates required for the SABER route. Arranging these before the goods leave the factory is the single most effective way to shorten clearance time.
Value added tax applies at the standard rate and is generally recoverable for registered taxpayers. We do not provide tax advice; the importer of record should confirm treatment with their own adviser.
Logistics & Shipping
Transport Modes and Ports
Sea freight is the standard mode for machinery from Shanghai to the Kingdom. Full container load suits single machines and packaged equipment and is generally the more economical choice from roughly 15 cubic metres upward. Less-than-container-load suits smaller orders and spare parts at a longer transit. Air freight is reserved for urgent spare parts and small instruments, typically 5 to 7 days.
Transit is 18 to 22 days to Jeddah Islamic Port on the Red Sea and around 20 to 24 days to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam on the Gulf. The two coasts serve different industrial bases, so the destination port should be selected against the plant location rather than against the sailing schedule alone: a machine for a Jubail plant is better routed through Dammam even if the Jeddah sailing is earlier, because the additional inland leg by road from Jeddah to the Eastern Province is substantial.
Packaging is specified for the full journey and for the destination climate. Machines are crated with desiccant and vapour barrier where electrical components require it, lifting points are marked, and the packing list identifies each case so the receiving team can plan handling. Heat and dust are the practical environmental considerations at destination, and we recommend specifying enclosure ratings and cooling arrangements accordingly during quotation.
Insurance is arranged on the CIF value at the buyer's option. We provide the invoice and packing details needed for the policy, but the insurance contract is between the buyer and the insurer.
Local Service & Support
Warranty, Training and Spare Parts
The standard warranty is 3 years from shipment or from commissioning, whichever the contract specifies. Coverage addresses defects in materials and workmanship under normal operating conditions and in accordance with the operating manual. It does not cover wear parts consumed in normal operation, damage arising from operation outside the specified parameters, damage from unsuitable raw materials, or the consequences of unauthorised repair. Exclusions are stated explicitly in the contract.
Commissioning covers mechanical alignment, electrical connection checks, guarding verification, a dry run and then a wet run with the customer's own material. Because the local supply is 60 Hz, commissioning includes verification of motor current, drive parameters and cooling performance at the actual operating frequency, which is where an incorrectly specified machine would reveal itself. Operator training covers start-up and shutdown sequences, media loading, clearance setting, cleaning between grades and the routine checks that prevent common failures.
Spare parts are the practical determinant of uptime. We hold wear parts and the components most likely to be needed in the first years of service and dispatch worldwide within 24 hours of a confirmed order. Each machine is supplied with a recommended spare-parts list distinguishing items to hold locally from items that can be ordered on demand.
Service visits are arranged with the customer's project team, including the visa and travel formalities. Where a plant has a competent maintenance team, remote commissioning and remote diagnosis reduce the need for a visit without reducing the quality of the handover.
