A Mexican plaster producer controls dust at source with a POLYC concentric dual-shaft mixer, a charging hopper, and an optional vacuum feeder for zero-dust charging.
Why virtually all dust originates at powder charging
In the production of putty and plaster products, virtually all dust originates from a single step: powder charging. Whether from bulk bags (FIBCs) or small sacks, every time powder is tipped into the vessel a portion of it never reaches the liquid — it escapes into the air instead. That means material loss and, more importantly, a direct risk to the respiratory health of the operators standing nearby. POLYC offers two progressive solutions for this stage.
Option 1: concentric dual-shaft mixer with charging hopper
For putty or plaster production that needs continuous powder addition during mixing — from bulk bags or smaller packages, according to real-time process conditions — a concentric dual-shaft mixer with a charging hopper is the better-matched configuration.
The machine is designed for medium-to-high viscosity, high-solids materials. In its concentric dual-shaft structure, the frame agitator includes a wall-scraping function that prevents material from adhering to the vessel, while the high-speed dispersing shaft accelerates mixing and dispersion.
The charging hopper is what changes the dust picture: it allows powder to be fed directly and continuously into the liquid phase while mixing proceeds. The moment powder meets the liquid it is wetted and encapsulated — with no chance to disperse freely into the air. The result is a marked reduction in airborne dust, protecting operators at the source.
Option 2: connect a vacuum feeder for zero-dust charging
To take dust control a step further, a pipeline can be connected from the mixer's charging port to a vacuum feeder. Under strong negative pressure, powder is drawn directly out of the bag and into the mixer, conveyed entirely within a sealed pipeline. Closed throughout, with no dust escape and no material contamination, the system eliminates the need for operators to lean over an open vessel at all — true zero-dust powder charging. It is an upgrade path with relatively moderate investment that nonetheless brings the workshop to a genuinely dust-free standard.
Whichever route you choose, the objective is the same: get the powder in — and keep the dust out.

Where this configuration fits
Complete line designs are covered under the wall putty and car putty production line. The same project is documented as a plaster wall material production line for Mexico with its delivery note in the resource library; the powder-charging principle also applies to the wall putty line delivered to Argentina. Buyers in the region can continue with the Mexico paint and ink equipment selection guide.
