Process requirements and material challenges
Adhesives and sealants can combine high viscosity, fillers, pigments and moisture-sensitive components. The central question is not simply mixer volume: torque, agitation pattern, wall and bottom sweeping, discharge behavior, temperature management and vacuum deaeration all influence a workable process.
A useful selection brief identifies the viscosity range throughout the batch, ingredient addition sequence, filler loading, desired dispersion quality, batch cycle time and any solvent or hazardous-area constraints.
Typical production route
Charging and initial wet-out
Introduce liquid resin or binder and dry ingredients in the intended sequence so fillers are incorporated without persistent dry zones.
High-viscosity mixing
Planetary or double-shaft mixing can be assessed against the required shear, circulation, torque and batch size.
Vacuum, discharge and filling
Where air entrainment is critical, vacuum deaeration and an appropriate discharge method should be included in the process review before packaging.

Planetary Mixer
The planetary mixer is specially for material with high viscosity up to 1,500,000 cP It is a highly efficient, multi-purpose equipment integrating reaction, mixing and dispersion; The stirring paddle in the kettle orbits and rotates simultaneously, so that the material flows up and down and around, so as to achieve the mixing effect in a very short time, there is no dead angle in the mixing process and the effect is more than ten times that of the ordinary mixer. Actual mixing performance depends on the formulation, fill level, tool geometry, and validated process settings.
