Editorial Policy: how we research and review technical content

Our technical content is written and reviewed by named POLYC MACHINE engineers, sourced from equipment specifications and ISO standards, with a public corrections policy.

This page explains how POLYC MACHINE researches, writes, sources and reviews the technical content on this site — who is accountable for it, what it is based on, and how we correct it. It applies to every technical article, guide and comparison we publish.

Who writes and reviews our content

Technical content is written and reviewed by POLYC MACHINE’s process engineering team. Articles are bylined to a named engineer — currently Kevin Lee, Senior Process Engineer — with a published and an updated date. The byline identifies who is accountable for the technical statements in the article, not a marketing author.

Every article is checked against the same references before publication: the machine specifications we build to, the material and formulation data supplied for the application, the batch volume and viscosity range, and the target particle size or fineness. Where an article quotes a number — motor power by vessel volume, media fill rate, tip speed, achievable fineness — that number is checked against our equipment data rather than estimated.

How content is researched

Our material comes from three sources: engineering records from equipment we have specified and commissioned; application cases where a customer has shared process data; and published industry standards and test methods. We do not publish a technical claim that cannot be traced to one of these.

Where a topic is genuinely uncertain or depends on a site-specific trial, we say so in the article instead of presenting a fixed answer. Guidance is written for the engineer or buyer who has to make the decision, so the conditions under which a recommendation holds are stated alongside it.

Sources and standards

Articles cite the relevant standards where they apply, for example ISO 1524 (fineness of grind), ISO 1513 (preparation of test samples), ISO 2808 (film thickness), ISO 8780 and ISO 8781 (dispersion and colour strength), and ISO 13320 (particle size by laser diffraction). Certifications and patents referenced in our content are listed, with identifiers, on the about and verified documentation page.

Review, corrections and independence

If a reader finds an error or an outdated figure, they can write to [email protected]. We review the point against the current specification and, where a correction is needed, update the article and its "updated" date. Corrections are not silently removed.

Commercial relationships do not determine technical conclusions. We do not accept paid placement inside technical articles, and a recommendation is based on process fit — material, viscosity, fineness and capacity — rather than on which machine is being promoted.

Use of AI tools

AI tools may assist with drafting, editing or translation, but we do not publish AI-generated technical claims without review by a named engineer. The bylined engineer remains accountable for the accuracy of the published content, and any figure or standard is verified against our equipment data before it goes live.

FAQ

Editorial questions

Who is responsible for the technical accuracy of an article?

Each article is bylined to a named POLYC MACHINE engineer, currently Kevin Lee, Senior Process Engineer, who is accountable for its technical statements. The wider engineering team reviews specifications and figures before publication.

Are your technical articles written by AI?

AI tools may assist with drafting, editing or translation, but we do not publish AI-generated technical claims without review by a named engineer, and figures are checked against our equipment data before publication.

How do you handle corrections?

Write to [email protected] with the article and the point in question. We check it against the current specification and, where a correction is needed, update the article and its updated date rather than removing it silently.

Do you cite external standards?

Where they apply, articles cite standards such as ISO 1524, ISO 1513, ISO 2808, ISO 8780 and ISO 8781, and ISO 13320. Certifications and patents are listed with identifiers on the about page.

Is your content influenced by commercial interests?

No. We do not accept paid placement inside technical articles, and recommendations are based on process fit rather than on which machine is being promoted.
